Lightning
Electrical energy (which incidentally also exists in static electricity) is the energy stored or manifested in al electrical way. 2 charged clouds have electric energy.
The electric current or the lightning discharges that energy and it (in the process) converts it in another form of energy,(i.e. heat light and electromagnetic in general) It also has the effect of making the cloud droplets to increase in size by joining adjacent ones.
